In many areas of agriculture, especially in milk and meat production, silage is the basic forage. Compared to other alternatives, silage is a cost-effective feed.

For producing cost-efficiently, however, the nutritional value of the silage is of great importance in the value chain in order to run a business economically.
Making high-quality silage and preserving the nutrient value of the plant material as good as possible is the foundation for sustainable baling.
You can take several actions to work more sustainably, but nothing affects your carbon footprint as much as feed losses. So, the main goal should be to keep them as low as possible. Additionally, low losses save cost and contribute to animal performance and welfare.

All Tenospin films are also independently tested regarding silage quality by the Swedish Agricultural University (SLU), with consistently positive results.

Innovations to ease your work in field

Besides maintaining highest forage quality, another main goal when developing products and concepts is to increase the total efficiency for the end-user.

One way to increase efficiency in field is to have more meters of film on the reel.

This is made possible through high-quality raw materials, optimized recipes, and advanced production processes. In the development, a key focus is ensuring equal or better forage quality compared to our proven premium films.

With our Tenospin plus products you can increase your efficiency by up to 73%!

All Tenospin products are field-tested with different wrappers, in tough conditions, different climates and with various crop material to make sure they offer a reliable performance.

FAQ

How much time can I save with your more efficient bale wrapping films?

This of course depends on how long it takes you to change a reel, but let's say you wrap 2000 bales and switch from our Tenospin to Tenospin+ RS with 2600 m. When chaging a reel trakes you 5 minutes, then this would save you in total around 1 hour and 40 minutes. not bad, eh? And to be honest, we're all just happy to keep going without jumping off the tractor so often, anyways.

How can I reduce feed losses during silage making?

Feed losses can be minimized by ensuring proper compaction, sealing, and wrapping with high-quality film. Using advanced films like Tenospin helps maintain the nutritional value of the forage and reduces spoilage, which directly improves profitability and sustainability.

However, many other factors also play a role, such as fertilisation, soil care, harvest time, cutting height, etc.
If you have any questions about how all this fits together and where you might be able to make improvements, our team will be happy to help.

How does using Tenospin films support sustainability?

Tenospin films help reduce feed losses — the single largest factor affecting the carbon footprint in silage production. In addition, the films use optimized materials and processes to deliver more meters per reel, reducing both waste and resource use.

On top of that, the whole Tenospin assortment is available with recycled content. We call this "loop inside". All our loop inside products contain at least 30% PCR (post-consumer recycled) content and are certified by RecyClass.
